Long story, please read 🙂:

Well I was running on ATI catalyst 5.7 and I had the tv-out wire in the computer, so when I unistalled the catalyst 5.7, the picture was trying to get on the TV, so nothing on monitor, so I kept turning the comp on and off or resetting it...several times until I realized how silly I am and took off the cable, now I got a picture on the monitor.

Now when I turn on the computer, you know the loading screen with the blue bar that keeps moving, my bar freezes at a point for a minute or two(but it doesnt freeze in safe mode), so after a couple of reset attempts I decided to let it be...eventually it gets in, but also freezes for a minute or two at the desktop, after that works fine.

I've tried resetting the cmos, it didn't do anything...help?

Try running chkdsk in safe mode and defragment your MFT and Registry with some appropriate utility. Also run a registry scan before the defragmentation to detect any problem in the registry.

A suggested utility will be Iolo's System Mechanic. You can run it in trial mode for 30 days.

Also check Device Manager for any conflicting hardware or driver problems.

Boot into safe mode, uninstall the drivers that are left for the board, then let windows boot normally, autodetect the graphics, and reinstall new drivers?
