Hi everyone.
I am building a system for a friend and he asked that I install Windows XP Pro as the operating system. This is the first time I have installed or used a machine with Win XP. The installation goes off without a hitch. I set up multiple users (an account for him and separate accounts for each of his kids).
The Problem: whenever I logoff or shutdown the computer, I get an error message that briefly flashes on the screen and then the computer performs the task as directed. The message flashes by so fast that I can only read part of the message - "Windows failed to initialize ..."
Doe anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?
The error message does not seem to effect the operation of the computer, it is more of an annoyance. I thought it might have to do with software, but the only software on the computer is the OS. I have tried Windows XP on different motherboards, an MSI K8N Neo4-F and an Asus A8V-E Delux. Both give the same little message - no difference.
Thanks.
