There are several things to check.
Go to
Start \ Settings \ Control Panel
and double-click SYSTEM
Under System Properties, click the HARDWARE tab, then DEVICE MANAGER
Under Device Manager, click the '+' next to Computer
It should read 'ACPI Uniprocessor PC' (for a single processor system)
While in Device Manager, are there any other conflicts? (yellow dot with exclamation point)
Also, if you have any USB devices connected, you may want to unplug them and
see if the problem occurs.
Lastly, check the EVENT LOG.
Start \ Settings \ Run
and type eventvwr, then click SYSTEM
