windows xp pro crashes

Whenever watch a video or try to play a game; my pc crashes and restarts and says "the system has recovered from a serious error". Of course, I though it was the video card (Nvidia Geforce 5200), so put another video card in ( Geforce mx 420) same thing. Then, tried my onboard video and it seems to have gotten worse. So, now i know its not the video what could it be? I've format already, so i know its hardware any info will be very appreciated.

right click my computer / properties /advanced / startup and recovery

take the tick out of automatically restart.

this will porduct a BSOD next time it crashes.

take a photo of the screen and post it here or write down the error codes.

without this we cannot start to help

If the video card isn't the source of the problem, it is your RAM very likely. First of all, check out if your RAM supports the matherboard frequency. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, autosettings were right more probably. One of the most effective method of testing RAM is http://www.memtest86.com/. If errors pop up, the problem is in RAM itself and you need to replace it.
