Windows XP Pro auto update restart changes resolution...

After windows does its auto updates and requires a reboot on the ensuing reboot my resolution is down to 800x600... Doesnt happen after any other reboot.

Any ideas? This is on a regular dell desktop with Intel built-in graphics controller

yeah, just did that. Won't know if it works until a required updater restart comes along... If anyone has any other suggestions in the mean time, let me know.

I believe that nweaver meant that windows update probably updated your video driver. When your video driver is updated it will usually default to 800x600 until you change it.

This usually doesn't happen with discrete graphics cards, but with integrated graphics this will usually happen more often because Windows Update can normally supply the drivers.
