I noticed that WinXP supports some means of allowing 'friends or coworkers' to remotely control your desktop. Does this mean that it can be setup as a terminal server? If so, where is the options for the server, and where can I get the client? I want to be able to use the PC in my living room from my bedroom for the stereo and my Palm Sync stuff.

What you're talking about is Remote Desktop. To enable it, go to Control Panel, System, and select the remote tab. Under Remote desktop, check it to enable it. If you're behind a router and you want to be able to connect remotely from work or school or something like that, remote desktop listens on port 3389. Make sure to have your router forward to that port. Windows XP has the client already. It's in Start, All Programs, Accessories, Communications, Remote Desktop Connection.

Here's a how-to in case my instructions were confusing:
Using Remote Desktop: Set Up Your Computer for Remote Desktop

If you want to connect remotely with a Windows 98 or 2000 computer, download the client here:
Remote Desktop Connection Software Download

Hope this helps. :)

This is very frustrating. I enabled incoming connections on the host PC, and pulled up the remote connection client and it is not listed. The only thing listed is a terminal server that WAS on my network (running 2k server) that is no longer even connected. Anyway, they see each other via windows networking, however this computer is unable to connect to the other. Go figure.
