Windows xp pendrive problem? help....

Hi,
Can anyone help to out the problem, windows xp pendrive. The usb port say unable to detect my pendrive but other pc its ok.
Someone says this is windows xp problem.
Is he right?
I need help. If he is not right how to solve problem..........please.
