Windows XP--Partitioning/NTFS or FAT32?

I'm installing Windows XP on a brand new hard drive and I was wondering whether to partition the drive during installation. Does partitioning a Windows XP drive either during installation or after (ie with PartitionMagic) affect performance? Also, is it better to format the drive NTFS or FAT32 performance-wise if i'm only using XP?

Don't they RTFM in the this case RTFF!! Or better yet use the search button... or even google!!

n0cmonkey, I noticed you have an old sun workstation, I'm thinking of getting one myself (perhaps an Ultra5)
how does it behave?? Is it all that different from pc and macs or all in all the same thing???

Me too, but Andy took care of it in a nice way, which is why I saved my flames for another thread 😉
