Windows XP Optimizing Question

Hi,

I remember reading about a little program that you can run on a freshly installed version of Windows XP that eliminates many unecessary utilites, services, programs, etc. I can't remember the name unfortunately and all the searches I have done have come up with nothing. I remember something about it being used by benchmarkers... Any help would be appreciated 😀

Thank you

In additon to the previously suggested utilities, with SP-1 you get a little program that allows you to actually "chose" your browser and other programs, instead of being lead down the yellow brick road of MS products. A bit of the "settlement" that MS has decided to implement. Could this be what you are looking for or talking about?

I've used all these before. Maybe I'm just crazy 😛 I coulda sworn there was a little program. Sorry for not being more descriptive. Oh, and its definitely not msconfig.

Thanks

Possibly bootvis.exe? It optimizes the boots files on an XP system, so that it will boot faster. When you said benchmarks, it was the only think I can thinkof that sort of fits your description. Here's the link if you want it: BootVis.
