i'm also wondering if an external USB-to-IDE cable will work with the xbox 360?

can you put in the xbox 360 controller into a PC without buying the PC version of the 360 controller?

I'm sure it's possible if you can somehow override the BIOS and make it agree with a bootable XP CD.
I'm also sure that any Xbox 360 controller can be used in a PC, isn't it a USB connector 😵. I dunno, I'm not an Xbox fan.

All 360 controllers work with both the console and the PC; there are no "PC" or "360" versions.

For the external USB hard drive, as long as it presents itself as a standard mass storage device, then yes, the 360 will recognize it fine.

As far as putting XP on a 360, good luck getting x86 code to run on PPC without a total rewrite or one hell of an emulator. Feel free to join in the rumour mill at X-S though. 🙂

well you gotta try it you know, it's a bad ass system, so I wanna check out 3Dmark05 and see what actual PC coded games would run like on it, stuff like see if recognizing the machine like a real computer, so I don't have to buy a seperate Windows MCE machine if I wanna put something close to my TV you know

someone tell me if I should just get a computer with MCE rather than an Xbox 360? ps3?

I bought a "360 version" of the controller and it works just fine on my PC. Got it for $30 brand new.

EDIT: No way you're getting Windows running on a 360. It would be like running a PPC version of Mac OS X on an x86 based system.

yeah, the wireless controllers won't work on a PC, because the USB attachment only charges the battery, no controller signals go down it.

Does the force feedback system of the 360's controller work on the PC?

From what I've read no, but I haven't tried it yet.
