I have bought a laptop and it comes with a recovery disc. I use it in my DESKTOP and suprisingly it work and installed. But its said that I have 30 days to register the product. Have anyone has any information about this? Would it forbid me or what would happen?

if you don't activate the copy within 30 days you won't be able to access the OS.
a word of warning, if the copy on your laptop has already been activated then you'll have alot of problems try to activate the same xp copy on another pc with an entirely different hardware configuration.
 
You'll have to call to activate it. You might have a hard time explaining how you upgraded your laptop to a desktop PC. It might just be easier to get another copy of Windows. Check out the Hot Deals forum. You can get WinXP Pro full version for like $39.95 plus shipping right from microsoft.
