Windows XP not showing processor.....

I just finished building a p4 system it works fine now after I figured out a memory problem. I only have one other problem (if you want to call it that, its more like a question...) when I right click "my computer" and look at the properties it shows how much memory I have and usually it will show processor speed and maker...but mine only shows the amount of ram the rest of it is blank. I have done several tests on the system for stability purposes and everthing seems fine. Why won't XP show it?

P4 2.4B (533)
512 PC1066 RDRAM
SB live! xgamer 5.1
16x DVD ROM
WD 20 GB HD
linksys 10/100 NIC

bump anyone have this problem? it seems windows cant detect my processor...but in device manager it says the normal 2.4 ghz p4.....

I'm pretty sure that the clock speed is not normally reported in "My Comptuer" properties, unless it is put there by an OEM. Here is a writeup on how to put that info there yourself. The info does not necessarily reflect your true hardware - you can make it say whatever you want.

edit: oh, winXP does report my CPU speed there. interesting, i never noticed before 😉.
