Windows XP not detecting my correct RAM amount...

I have a server PC at my work for doing audio in pro tools. The mobo is an ASUS Server mobo and i have two quad core xeon's with two 2 gig sticks of ram. In bootup, the POST messages say the full 4 gig amount, but when xp loads, it only reads 2 gigs. Now i know it wont read the full 4 because its 32-bit, but it should at least read 3.5 or even 3. What is the big idea here, im loosing a ton of memory!
