Windows XP network drive

I am running Windows XP on my desktop and laptop. I have 2 partitions on my desktop that I share over the network, one 40gb and the other 160gb. Is there any way I can tell how much free space is on the shared drives from the laptop? It doesn't show up in Explorer and I'm running out of space on one of them and want to be able to manage the files from the laptop, since I use it 99% of the time.
