Are there any plans to sell Windows XP Media Center Edition as a standalone product or will it only be bundled with OEM PC's?

You can get it if you are a Corporate licensee, but besides that I dont think they will be selling it ouright.

What do you mean by Corporate license? We have a Select agreement and it's not part of it. It's not even a choice. AFAIK this is an OEM only product because Microsoft wants it shipped only with certain hardware.

i have it.. very buggy
which is why MS only wants it going out on hardware thats up to it.
do you have an "official" Media Center comp ? or just a copy of the program ? if you don't have the complete setup the way MS is intending for it to be used you can't really judge it.

Yeah, the reason it only comes OEM is because it only works with certain hardware configs. It isn't promised to be stable otherwise, but they are working on a new updated version much like sp1 was for regular xp. The difference is that they will redistribute it as a new complete version instead of a patch.
