Windows XP mapping network drive: account gets locked out

We have a Windows NT domain set up here, and a user in the east coast trying to map a share on one of the file servers here in the west coast. Her machine is running Windows XP, not part of the domain. She is able to map the network drive, but after she goes home and starts the machine the next day, she says the drive isn't mapped, and when she trys, her account gets locked out. I've tried doing this with Windows 2000, and have no problems. Is this a problem with XP? How come her accout keeps getting locked out?

Do you mean she can't log back in the into system after she tries to map the drive the next day?

And what privileges does her account have?

I've had this same problem as well...I was told that when you map the drive, you have to click on the option that says "login with different name/user" or something to that effect. If not, it tries to log in with your Windows XP user/password and if it does not match the user/pass on the server for the mapped drive, it just automatically will not connect. I'm not too sure if this will help, but try it out and tell me what happens, I never got around to actually trying it myself.

That's sounds like a solution. Since the user is in the east coast, it'll be difficult to guide her. I'll give it a shot and let you know... thanks!
