Windows XP + iPod Startup Troubles

Whenever my iPod is connected Windows XP refuses to load the welcome screen. As soon as I disconnect it, however, it loads just fine. Any ideas?

Its quite possible your pc is trying to boot to the Ipod... see if you can tell it to always boot to the hdd before a USB drive in the bios...

No no no, it loads Windows and right when it goes black after the Windows loading screen to load the welcome screen, it stays on that black screen until I unplug the iPod.

From a quick google search, it appears this is a common problem. I've seen it before at work also. The fix was always to just keep it unplugged at boot. I still think its related to an attempt to boot from it or at least connect to it at boot.
