Windows XP & Internet Explorer: JAVA Virtual Machine

Certain websites, including my own (www.hawlingchapel.org.uk) require JAVA Virtual Machine to function correctly. I have had no problems viewing such websites using Windows 98 & Internet Explorer 6.0 However, Windows XP states that this feature needs to be installed. Following the on-screen instructions takes me to Microsoft's website where I get this message:

We're sorry. Automatic installation of Microsoft Virtual Machine is no longer provided for Microsoft Windows XP.

What can I do? With Windows 98 I could use Add/Remove to repair or add components to Internet Explorer. Is this available with XP?

Thanks in advance

I can't seem to find a way of installing this feature on WindowsUpdate or any Microsoft site for that matter. Help!
