Hello,
I want to apologize in advance if this is a duplicate post, if it is, please give me a link to the a post in regards to my following issue.

My floppy drive died about 2 months ago and I have neglected to replace it (I hardly ever use it.) However, an issue has arose that has force me to reinstall Windows XP. I am using an ASUS 533-E with an onboard RAID controller. I have two 60 GB HDD's in a RAID 0 array. Unfortunately, WinXP does not have built in support for my Promise FastTrak RAID controller, so I usually have to add it via drivers from a floppy disk. Since I do not have a drive anymore, does anybody know of anyway to have the installation look at another location? Like a different CD-ROM perhaps?

Thanks in advance

I don't know how to do that, srry.

***oops***

actually I think the best solution is just getting a new floppy. They are so cheap and very easy to install.

Nope, has to be floppy (I also think it's kinda dumb, scanning another CD seems to make perfect sense). You might get away with a USB floppy if your bios supports it.

Couldn't you borrow one in for just this and then remove it later? You can find them fairly cheap used.. I honestly wish that floppy drives would just die off forever, but things like this seem to keep the need around. It should be able to be done via CD..

Search around on Google. You can make a custom WinXP install CD with the driver already on the CD. Although it may just be easier to go buy a floppy for $10
