Okay, I used Western Digital's data copying thing to move my system from one disk to a new one.

I did that Friday and everything has been fine.

Suddenly my adobe and roxio icons disappeared. Well, the art did. I've been able to find the art and re-add it but I'm curious as to why this would suddenly happen?

Some file not being copied? Unrelated to the WD copy?

I've had this happen before. Always seems like it happens after a ghost.

Meh...dunno.

I had a computer where when I took it to a LAN party all the icons would turn black after a while but it never ever did that when I was home.

Makes no sense. Sometimes Windows is just strange.
 
I have three computers - each has at least on duplicate drive - those are done by using TrueImage's CLONE function - never had a loss of anything in several years and I clone my drives every Saturday.
 
did you change file systems? I had Seagate seatools clone to myy new HD going from fat32 to NTSF. Lost a lot of icons that way. Had to restore a few programs to get them back
