Hi ,

Is there a way to change the WIN XP icons without using a program like Active icons or Icon packager , Like a folder that windows keeps all the default system icons in.

So you can just delete and replace the windows icon with one of my own and rename it to the same name as the windows one.

No, the icons are stored in dll's, not as individual files....

I think shell32.dll has all the Windows core icons.
Its much safer to just go and change them with 'Folder Options... File Types'
