Windows XP Home

I have been searching for the right version of windows XP and I have it down to wanting Windows XP Home Edition, while I don't want it to be OEM because I would like to be able to install it on my PC each time I desire to. I believe the original XP I got for my family was OEM so I was unable to get it to work on my new PC. So this brings it down to who has the best deal for purchasing Windows XP Home (Retail, not OEM)? I am unsure of what difference getting the service pack with the actual OS is other than lowering downloads? I searched back over 15 pages and using the search function I was unable to come up with the information I was looking for.

-Home Edition
-Non OEM
-Best price
-Service packs matter?

Thanks for the help,
Dave

I can't help with all of it, but I can tell you that Home without sp2, is very old software. You are better off making sure that sp2 is on the copy you buy. www.pricewatch.com might be a place to start checking for a good price.

Whats the problem installing the original WIN XP?

Maybe we can help you out and you don't have to buy another one.

You can DL SP2 from MS site, and you do need to install it.

The issue I am having is it says the CD Key can't be used any more, guessing it was an OEM. I want to get a legit copy rather than trying to pirate it from someone, I want a retail copy so I can install it on future PCs etc etc, XP is something I will always like.
