Can Windows XP Home SP2 deal with the AMD 4800x2 dual core???
Its hard to find a definite answer...
Does XP Home SP2 have full support dual core (i.e. 2 cores on the 1 die not 2 processor dies???)

Thanks Very much!
What exactly is SMP??? Does it stand for symmetric multi processing??? Is it so that you can use a dual socket mobo.... or does it have something to do with parallel processing of 2 sepperate systems connected together to for a "supercomputer" setup?

SMP is indeed symetric multi-processing. It is using two processing cores in a single system, so dual-core systems are also SMP enabled. Anyway, it will work fine on XP home, that's all that matters.

Does that mean that I will have less control over the usage of the 2 cores... will i see any performance decreases?

no performance decrease. You don't have any control of how the cores are used anyways.
