Co-Workers son put a password on his home PC and now cannot get back into the machine. Anyone know of an easy way of ridding her of this password or bypassing it so she can log into the XP machine??

Thanks in advance.

boot into safe mode. when pc comes up one of your log in options will be "admin" it does not require a password

if you need any more information PM me.

Or if it gives the option to log in as Administrator (off by default...DOH) you can just log on that way and change the password for that user in the Control Panel options.

no way, that's the difference in security. they made it SECURE

after the format and reinstall, tell them to get a admin password and account and keep it private. it would be best if this kid had his own account with restricted rights. and the normal user can get a less restricted (but not admin, at least not password rights) for normal use. both the accounts on mine are password protected. if anyone else needs it they can ask and receive a guest account with restricted rights.😉
