windows xp home or pro?

Going to buy either soon, but is there enough advantages to warrant the price difference from Home to Pro?

Thanks.

well i think xp pro is worth it if you are into windows that much. Seems more secure and has sp2. I am not gonna sit here and talk about the advantages and disadvantages of xp pro and home because just go to microsofts website and see the difference or someone else can babble on about it. heh

 You make it sounds like Home is less secure and does not have SP2 available for it.

For a home user, Pro gives you cached credentials and the ability to remote desktop in (which if you use, is well worth the price difference). The other differences apply to Pro used on a corporate network.

Well I went to some local store, $130 - Home, $215 - XP, keep in mind these are canadian prices. So what should I go with(I will find them cheaper though this i sjust the price difference)?

yea well that is true gee any idiot could have pulled it out of the link that BW86 put up heh. Thanks for pointing out obvious facts that he probably read before you had your "highly intelligent" post. Kudos to you Mr. Microsoft. And the other thing you talk about Pro is used on a corporate network.... WOW gee ya think. I dont know how that warrants him to buy Pro for him being a HOME user unless if i am mistaken and he is starting a new corporation in his backyard. So your points and well your whole post is utterly redundant and useless. In fact my post that i am typing now is about as useless

But i will say one thing. Just read what BW86 posted on the difference and make the decisioin that you feel is the correct one and be done with it.

I was pointing out you were incorrect in your implied statement that SP2 was only for XP Pro and that (if one thought they would use it) remote desktop is worth the cost difference. I recommendation I always make to those users who had a need for it.

Yep.
