I had a computer built that has windows xp home oem (couldn't build this one for personal reasons).

Have a 2d box that I built with Win2k on it. Newegg has Windows xp home oem for $84.99.

Question: Any problem with activation if I buy it and install it on the Win2k box?

That sounds AOK, I mean your buying it so you can put it onto anything you want the first time, its just tied to that from then on.

On a practical note, be aware that you can't do an in-place upgrade from Win2000Pro to WinXP Home, so you'll want to back up your stuff and do a clean installation (which you probably planned on anyway).

Thanks TG2 and mech for the replies.

Mech, I planned to do that - put xp on a separate partition and install/move over to that partition and eventually delete the win2k partition.
Edit: In other words, have a dual-boot while I'm getting the xp partition set up.

Thanks, guys! ;)
