Hi

I ran msconfig and chose the /SAFEBOOT (minimal) option under the BOOT.INI
tab. After I restart my machine, I get the initial WINDOWS XP logo screen but
after that I don't get the logon screen and the computer seems to hang. What
can I do to rollback my changes to the msconfig during the boot up process ?

Thanks
PN

Try an F8 during the boot process and choose "Last Known Good Configuration" (I think that's it).

What do you mean by 'hang'? How long did you leave it alone? Even if you have to, leave it for 10mins and see if it boots into Safemode.

Hi

I left the PC for almost 15 mins before hard booting it again. And I tried all the options under F8 (including Last Known Good Configuration). I think because I changed the BOOT.INI and then re-started the machine, the Last Known Good Configuration will be the one with /SAFEBOOT option.

Regards

I think you should be able to boot with an XP CD and use the Recovery Console to change your boot.ini back to what it was before.
