Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade???

I plan on buying Windows XP for the new system I am about to build(I currently run Windows 98SE), but I am wondering what version I should buy. I plan on getting the home version, but what is the difference is between the Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade and the full version of Windows XP Home?😕
Amazon.com sells the Upgrade for $60 with free shipping and the full version of Windows XP is much more expensive(even OEM), so I would like to save money if I can. Is the Upgrade only for Windows XP users, or is it something you install over your old OS to make it like XP? Thanks for any reply.

You should be able to do a clean install of Windows XP with the Upgrade from Amazon. You will have to have your Win98 cd close by to verify that you already own a copy of Windows, and qualify for the upgrade. XP Installer will ask for it during install.

So will it work just like the regular full version of Windows XP once I install it? I just have my doubts since the price is much cheaper than the retail full version.
