Windows XP Hard drive question. when changing computers

Hey i have windows xp installed in a computer, but I took the hard drive out and put it in a different computer. Now it says something about hard drive corrupt and possible viruses.. can i not move a xp hard drive into a different computer?

It may somehow be possible to do it, but I personally haven't been able to do so myself either. And from reading other threads, others haven't either.

It simply overwhelms XP's hash count. It can be possible if the computers are identical, but even so, every piece of hardware is "new" and has to be reinstalled. I use a backup HDD in the same computer, and even after a direct clone, it always has to find and reinstall the drive itself . . . XP is sensitive even to the drive's ID number.
