Hey guys, I am new here, I need serious help and I hope someone will be able to save me.

I have been messing around with my partitions and stuff lately (see link below for details) and royally screwed up my windows boot, I managed to fix it by using someone elses boot.ini file on another forum, now i can successfully boot but am stuck at the welcome screen.

So that I don't have to write it all up again, please read this thread on the forum where someone helped me get windows to boot:

forums.e-mpire.com/showthread.php?p=1379193

THIS IS NOT SPAM, I POSTED THE LINK TO THE THREAD SO I DON"T HAVE TO WRITE DETAILS AGAIN!

Basically, When the welcome screen comes up, the computer seems to hang, the mouse courser still works but i can't do anything, all i get is "windows xp professional" and doesn't have my account to click on so i can login, i have left my computer for hours hoping that it will get past the screen but it doesn't.

Please help me! if you need anymore info i can post it.

did you tried alt-tab, once I had a problem in which I got stuck in the welcoming screen because an error message, but I didn't notice it until I hit alt-tab and the error appeared, I pressed Ok and accessed Windows.
