Windows XP from Dell - Will an unregistered copy work on another computer

I am looking to buy a sealed copy from a seller here. He states it is from Dell but never registered...Will it work on a new machine (if I had the registration key also??)

seems that if it's from Dell , and you didn't get a Dell with it , then they don't meen for you to have a license for it.
 
Unless the other machine is a Dell, it will most likely not work. Most OEMs bios lock their "reinstall" cds. If it is a true XP cd (with the hologram and everything), then you could probably do it. But usually Dell gives you a modified XP disc.
