Windows XP file sharing?

Ok Everything works great but I can't view the contents of the program files or windows folder over the network. This is just on my home LAN so I would like to be able to do this so that I can edit files of some programs or view their progress from another computer without installing them outside the program files folder. I'm assuming this is a security feature but is there a way to turn it off?

think you need to be logged on with administator permissions first. then go to the item you want to share and right click on it. you can setup sharing and security from there.
good luck

Try using the administrative drive share (C$, or whatever is appropriate for the drive letter). You can set the permissions for your usual account, but I suggest loging in as an administrator.
