Continuing to base changes on the assumption that us windows users arnt smart enough to use our computers, microsoft, in thier infinate wisdom, has made windows XP insert a space infront of anything that one pastes into a text editor (not just office! even notepad!). As if i wasnt smart enough to put one there myself if i needed one (which is about 1% of the time i paste things in). Does anyone know how to give this bug.. er.. feature... the heaveho? It grows difficult for me to suppress the urge to mail roadkill to redmond (and if i started doing that, the postage would drive me bankrupt, so its something i dont want to do :p)
Thanks in advance

I haven't seen this behaviour, nor can I duplicate it from what you said (just tried Notepad). You sure that is what is happening?

Further examination has determined that it is only caused by certain behavior (when not looking spesificaly for it, you dont notice when it doesnt manifest, only when it does):
Start of line pasted from netscape (even when one is very careful to only select the word and nothing before it)
Characters from the beginning/end of words in MSword XP (this makes it very tedious to work with wierd symbols in equations and such)
It is now clear that there are propably two seperate causes of this behavior. In any case, both causes of unwanted spaces when pasting need to be axed, if at all possible in order to preserve my sanity.
I am thinking that the MSword-spesific problem will be solved by searching for the hidden (and likely randomly-self-reactiviting) option in the preferences.
