I've tried several different programs now and every one I use in XP every few seconds it lags and makes a high pitch sound. I've run all windows XP updates, updated my video and sound card drivers. I have a Pioneer 6x SCSI DVD. Any have any ideas?

I just finished installing XP Pro on a system, and it has a Pioneer 106S DVD drive. I keep getting this nifty message from XP about a new driver that WinDVD needs to run in XP.

Well . . . as of now that is a big joke because I have downloaded it . . . tried to install it on line, etc., and it always says it can't find my WinDVD installation, so it is terminating the upgrade. Yeah . . . right! It never asks me where to look.

I have sent a bitch-o-gram to Intervideo asking them to please send me the naked drivers with an INF file so I can install them. Why do people always assume that everything is in C:\Program Files, etc., etc. ? :(

If they can't straighten that out . . . I'll switch to PowerDVD.

Use Windows Media PLayer 8, it actually plays DVDs pretty decently. I may not have tons of functions but I never used those anyway since I just want to watch a movie.
