Windows XP does not pick up my other hd

I have a WD 40 gig ata 100 7200 rpm and a Maxtor 7200 rpm udma 66. My WD is the master and my maxtor is the slave. I set the jumpers on the HD's and the bios picks up both of them. I'm using windows xp. In device manager it is there also.
