Windows XP, desktop stays black

I used remote desktop for Mac and when i came back to the home pc and logged in, my screen stayed black. It is suposed to be the blue that Microsoft originaly set it at. When i go to the desktop properties and change it to red and hit apply, no clors change; the screen stays black.

I used remote desktop on my laptop (not the mac this time) and the screen showed up blue on it. I thought i fixed the problem. When i went back to the home pc again and logged in i noticed that the screen was still black.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

I fixed the poblem!

Somehow there was an internet explorer walpaper that was black. interesting.
