I recently installed windows xp and now my countersrike is getting 30 fps. Does anyone know why this is happening?? I have the max fps in cs set to 100. I'm using a geforce 2 pro with 14.90 drivers. I have v sync turned off and currently using a oc'ed duron at 1ghz. What's the prob??

dumb question:
Did you change fps_modem to something higher as well? If you're on broadband, do you have your connection set to it? I think it defaults to 56k. If it's set on that, I don't think it even looks at fps_max, just fps_modem.

whats your fps_max setting in your config.cfg located in your \Half-Life\cstrike\ folder?

You can try setting that at like 100 or whatever. Depends on your system.

Definitely sounds like a driver issue or a prob with your cstrike config file.

I am getting 71 fps on my rig (see signature)... running with anti aliasing at 1280X968.
