Windows Xp CDROM error message help I wanna play Counter Strike

F:\ is not accessible

The disk structure is currupted and unreadble

i was doing some mods to my PC and then when i put any cd in i get that error

ive tried uninstalling it and it didnt help

i tried searching microsofts site

i disabled digital sound

it sees my zip which is on the same ide

You have several optical drives. I assume your other optical drives read the cd's just fine, right? Looks like it may have just gone bad. It happens. Stuff can't last forever. You could try to move the questionable drive to the other IDE channel and see if that makes any diffrence. You could swap the IDE cable too. Make sure the IDE cable is plugged in securely. You may have bumped it during your mods.

sorry i just upgraded my computer so all that has changed but i just tried another cable hooked to another drive and it doesnt give me an error it just doesnt show that a CD is in the drive heres my new setup

80gig 60gig 40gig

My Aopen 12x DVD is starting to go bad. It's only a year old, but optical drives break. I have to open it and clsoe it a bunch of times just to get it to recognize a cd thats in there. Just go to best buy and buy a $20 cheap cd drive and pop it in. If that fixes your problem you have a bad drive and you're only out $20.
