Windows XP CD Key

Hi, Just wondering if anyone can answer this. I have an IBM laptop with broken restoration CDs (windows xp pro). Knowing that the laptop have the cd-key printed on the bottom of it, i tried to install windows xp (backup copy) and use that cd key on the bottom of the laptop. It wouldn't let me saying that it's invalid. WTH. So i'm forced to use a pirated windows xp cd-key on a valid laptop :/

Contact IBM/Lenovo customer support. You can probably get replacements for your "broken" restore CD. Evidently your "backup" XP CD was not a backup of the OEM CD that is "broken.?"
