Windows XP cant install printer!@

Just now i noticed that my printer isnt deteced and as i proceeded to open Add printer. I get the following message " Operation could not be completed " .

I think this happened because today i was tweaking my windows and i think i turned off something that I shouldnt. But cant remember what.
 
We need a few more details here please. What printer, usb or pararell? If usb, are your usb ports enabled in the system bios?
