Windows XP Boot Problems

I used a program called "BOOT FREE" that would let me go directly to safe mode. When I rebooted all I get is a flash of the "Windows 98" starting screen and the C:\ prompt. Windows 98 has never been installed on this computer. I bought it new with XP already installed.

When I get the C:\ prompt I use Ctl-Alt-Del and go back to the XP boot screen and hold the ESC key to get the drive I want to boot to.

Can anyone help?

Why did you install BOOT FREE and where did you get it from?
