Windows XP Boot CD (not floppy disk)

Hey guys,

So all the parts to my new rig finally arrived!! And I put it together, and it didn't blow up. Unfortunately, the DFI MOBO didn't come with a cable for a Floppy Drive, so I'm having trouble installing my copy of XP. It does not boot off the ROM (Yes my ROM is set as Primary, this disk has never been able to boot directly into the XP install), but in the past it has worked fine when I used the 6 MS XP boot disks.

Unfortunately since I can't use the Floppy's I need to create an XP boot CD. Anyone know how to do it or where to go?

Thanks!

Oh, I see now! Duh, if I'm finally right!... 6 A type floppy discs to equal 1 CD?

I am terribly slow you know!

Remember, the cable coming from the CD drive to the motherboard. Don't get complicated at this point! If you have more than 1 optical drive installed, rip 'em all out except by my way of thinking, a CD-ROM driver if possible. Set it to no faster than 42 speed. The blue end of the communication cable goes into the mommaboard. The black end to the optical drive. You set the jumper on the optical drive to Master!

Now, try to boot from CD again please!

And don't use the grey connector at the optical drive end of life for now. Some mommaboards won't recognize it if there isn't one plugged into the black connector as well.

Blue end mommaboard... black end, optical drive!

Wax on, wax off!

Paint the floor!
Sand the car!
Wax the fence!

isn't that how it goes? 😕

google is your best friend.
