Windows XP: blue screen, dumping physical memory

hey, i've had this problem for a while... but what happens is whenever i attach any removable hardware (ie. my digital camera or ipod) more than one time per power cycle for the PC, then i get the infamous winxp blue screen. it's weird because i can attach either device only once with no problem, then after disconnecting if i try to attach either one without restarting i get that message. i tried turning off my memory dump, but now it just restarts... has anyone else had this problem? or does anyone know how to fix this? thanks
