Windows XP annoying message

I just installed a wireless network on a ladies computer and for some reason on one of the computers it constantly asks for like a username and password to get into her linksys router. The message box has some keys (Image) at the top and then it has the network path. I thought that maybe underneath internet explorer she setup her connection properties wrong so I went through that wizard again but that did not work. This message constantly comes up and the only way to navigate to webpages is to hit the escape key or click cancel. It happens everytime you try to go to a different page. I tried Firefox on her machine and that worked fine, so I'm thinking that it must be proprietary to IE, but the message box looks like its coming from Windows xp. The other computer in the house has no problems. Help?

Thanks for reading,
Stu

you check the IE settings to make sure it's not trying to go through a proxy? check to see if the computer is set to look for a lan connection only and not to check for dialup, then LAN?

tools > internet options > connection > LAN settings. make sure it's not trying to go through a proxy.
