Windows XP and Update

Recently, I've tried to install some of the windows updates and was denied because Windows Update couldn't verify my key, saying that it was known as a pirated oem key or something. (Which it is...do I really have to go out and buy a copy?)

What do I do?????
 
OK first off, Anandtech isn't the kind of place to offer advice about pirating.

That said, ignore Windows Update and just use Automatic Updates.
