WIndows XP and two sound cards...

Hi guys... girls...

I have a semi-pro sound card, M-Audio Audiophile 2496
and I would like to get another one just for gaming (some vortex 2500 or dmx 1024)

How can I set WinXP to use a sound card when I play a game and for all the rest to
use another card, or something similar. Also, I wonder if something like this is possible, actually.

BTW, I play mostly Quake3, so if it works on q3 I don't care about the others, at least not now 😉
Also, I don't want to change this card for anything. Audigy's quality dreams to the quality of Audiophile 2496.

Thanks in advance for any ideas 🙂

I don't know of any "automated" way, but if you want to switch devices manually you can go to your Sound And Audio Devices settings in the Control Panel and change your Default Playback Device.
