I have no clue what I did, but I rebooted the computer and my taskbar would not hide any inactive icons. It normally would do this on loading those programs, but now it doesnt. Should I run a repair using the XP cd? Or is there a registry tweak to fix? I have the option checked to hide them and now it wont. I dont understand. Someone help me out please.

I think I fixed it.

if there is something in xp that you dont want ot show up or you want to hide. 99% of the time there is a button you click to turn it on or off...

the problem is, searching for that button/option

You can set it so that you choose what icons show, and which ones don't.

If any of them are set to show, then they will show if you use them (like the ones that start when Windows starts).

After hours/days of inactivity, all of them will hide, unless you select some to "always show".
