Windows XP and Multitasking

I had windows XP home installed on my computer up until about a month ago when my hard drive died. So I went and bought a new Maxtor with 8mb cash (I had a WD with 2mb cash). And I installed Windows XP Pro and I started having problems with multitasking. I play Dark age of Camelot and like to run multi sessions of it. Before on Windows XP home I had no problems, but since I installed Pro it would start after several minutes but was unplayablet. Any Idea?s on what I can try. Is it XP pro?. I cant even open a web page. Thanks

Sounds like u might not of installed the drivers right, or have some other problem with u installed XP Pro. XP Pro shouldn't be the culpret here, more than likley some driver/IRQ problems.

Might also be that the drive isn't identified right like, it was set in PIO4 mode, or as a SCSI device when it's really not (happened on my dads PC n cause it to chkdsk everybootup)
