Windows XP And Monitor Shutdown

I have Windows XP and a Viewsonic 21 Inch P815 Color Monitor.

When I shut down the Computer System I want the Monitor to Power Off Also.

The Computer Power Offs Automatically after a successful System Shutdown, but how do you get the Monitor to Power down itself also?

I have the ViewSonic Device Driver installed, and in the the System Device Manager Hardware settings it does list the Viewsonic O815 Color Monitor.

Does your monitor come ON when your turn your computer ON without having to press any buttons on the monitor?? If yes, then it is possible to turn it OFF equally easily..if not, then there is no chance..back in the days computer power supplies came with 2 connections. One for the wall socket for it's own power and a second for a special cable to power the monitor. Using this method, when the computer was turned off, so was the monitor. But technically the monitor wasn't really turned off, it's power was just yanked..

I would envision there are a few monitors out there that have APCI power management built in and can indeed shutdown with a computer shutdown, but I'm pretty sure you don't have it..so take the extra step and turn the monitor off while you'r machine is going down..Regards
