Windows XP and DOS mode sound.. can't get it working

I thought they praised XP as finally having emulated DOS sound, yet I can't get it.

Am I missing something here? Any help would be appreciated.

My sound card is the TB Santa Cruz and last I checked I had all the legacy stuff running in XP
